Who We Are
ProxUs ("we", "our", "us") is a proximity-based social networking app operated by a Nevada-based company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.
By using the ProxUs mobile application, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
What Data We Collect
ProxUs collects the absolute minimum data necessary to operate your account. We collect nothing beyond what is listed here.

That's it. We do not collect your name, phone number, date of birth, payment information, contacts, browsing history, or any behavioral or analytics data.
How We Use Your Data
Every piece of data we collect has a specific, limited purpose. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is listed below:
- Email address — to authenticate your account, enable password recovery, and send critical account-related communications only
- Username — to display your identity within the app to other users
- Device location — to show you and connect you with other users who are physically nearby
- Push token — to send you notifications about activity relevant to your account (e.g. new messages or nearby activity)
- User content — to display your posts and photos on the platform as intended
We do not use your data to build profiles, serve advertisements, train machine learning models, or share insights with any third party.
Location Data
ProxUs is a proximity-based app — location is core to how it works. When you use ProxUs, we access your device's GPS location to connect you with other users who are physically nearby.
How It Works
- Location is accessed only while the app is in use, unless you explicitly grant background location permission
- Your precise GPS coordinates are used to calculate proximity to other users — they are not stored permanently on our servers
- Other users see your relative proximity (e.g. "0.3 miles away") — they do not see your exact GPS coordinates
- You can disable location access at any time through your device settings, though this will limit core app functionality
Your location is never sold or shared with advertisers. It is used solely to power the proximity features of ProxUs and is not retained after your session ends.
Push Notifications
ProxUs may send push notifications to your device to let you know about activity relevant to you — such as new messages, nearby users, or account alerts.
- Push notifications require your permission, which your device will request when you first install the app
- You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's notification settings
- We use a device push token (a unique identifier generated by Apple or Google) to route notifications to your device — this token is not linked to any other personal information and is not shared with third parties
Third-Party Services
ProxUs uses one third-party service within the app. We have chosen services that align with our minimal data philosophy.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Content Moderation
We use AWS content moderation tools to automatically filter rude or harmful language in real time. Content submitted through the app may be processed by AWS for this purpose. AWS does not retain or store this content after processing, and it is not used for any purpose beyond moderation. ProxUs does not pass any personally identifiable information to AWS in connection with content moderation.

Your device's operating system (Apple iOS or Google Android) may independently collect certain device-level information — we encourage you to review Apple's and Google's privacy policies for details.
Data We Do Not Collect
To be explicit about what ProxUs does not do:
- We do not collect your real name, phone number, date of birth, or any government-issued ID
- We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or web beacons
- We do not collect browsing history, app usage patterns, or behavioral data
- We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, GAID) for advertising purposes
- We do not run analytics on how you use the app
- We do not collect payment or financial information of any kind
- We do not access your contacts, camera roll, microphone, or other device data beyond what is necessary for the features you actively use
Data Sharing
ProxUs does not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes — period.
The only circumstances in which we may disclose information are:
- Legal obligations: If required by law, subpoena, court order, or other governmental authority, we may disclose information as legally required
- Child safety: Any detected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement as required by federal law — this is a legal obligation, not a choice
- Safety threats: If we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to any person, we may share relevant information with law enforcement
- Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction — you will be notified if this occurs
Data Deletion
When you delete your ProxUs account, your data is deleted from our servers immediately. We do not retain your email address, username, or any other account data after deletion. There is no grace period or recovery window.
To delete your account, use the account deletion option within the app settings. If you experience any issues, contact us at info@proxus.club and we will process your deletion request promptly.
Please note: content you have posted (text, photos) may remain visible to other users briefly after deletion while caches clear, but will be permanently removed from our systems immediately upon account deletion.
Security
We take the security of your data seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS
- Access to user data within our systems is strictly limited to authorized personnel
- We conduct periodic reviews of our security practices
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at info@proxus.club.
Children's Privacy
ProxUs is strictly an 18+ platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated and any associated data deleted.
If you believe a minor has created an account on ProxUs, please contact us at info@proxus.club so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal data. ProxUs respects these rights regardless of your location.
- Access: You may request a copy of the data we hold about you (email and username)
- Correction: You may update your username or email address at any time within the app
- Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated data at any time — deletion is immediate and permanent
- Portability: You may request an export of your data by contacting us
- Objection: You may object to any use of your data by contacting us — given the minimal nature of our data use, most objections can be resolved simply by deleting your account

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes — such as collecting new types of data — we will notify you via the email address associated with your account before the changes take effect.
Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
